A little about me personally……

I grew up with very young parents who divorced when I was young and am still not as old as the number of times I have moved.  I bring up the moves because my moves also included switching schools many of the times and I think has a huge role to my personality today because if I wasn’t open, quick to make friends and able to deal with what ever brought my way I would have had a pretty hard childhood.  Not to say I didn’t go through things I would never want my kids to but I always had a warm place to sleep, 3 meals a day and people around me who loved and supported me even if it wasn’t the people one would always expect.  Quiet, shy, reserved, curt, aloof and timid are some adjectives that nobody would ever use for me even if they have only known me for days.  I’m not afraid to speak my mind and I realized that my journal should be the same.  I’m not saying it’s all roses but it’s not all thorns either.  My life has brought me some huge roller coasters but I think I’m realizing that that’s the norm for me and to have the huge highs is worth some of those dark lows and just makes me that much stronger for the ride to the top!  I have worked since I was in my early teens and only a few months after graduating high school moved out on my own while holding 2 full time and 1 part time jobs.  I was lucky to have been involved with computers since I was in middle school because of my dad and ended up taking a few classes in High School as well.   Not long out of high school I had built my first computer with my dad and about 2 years later I found myself working for my internet provider and worked my way from there.  Customer Support and Field Installation at my provider installing high speed internet at customer sites then lead me into trying recruiting and field services but that only proved I needed to stay in a 100% technical position which is when I moved onto working in a NOC and then in Customer Support for a software company.  After a few years of supporting their software I was encouraged to go to QA after helping them with some testing they needed to get done for a release.  I am now hooked on testing software and really can’t see myself doing anything else!  I got married back in 2001 to a man who is also pretty technical(he’s a network engineer) and also none of those adjectives I mentioned below and I wouldn’t have it any other way!  We also enjoy doing things outdoors like camping and kayaking and just having a good time!  We also enjoy raising our two girls who are now both in school and keeping us on our toes!  I was pretty thin when I was younger but after being in an unhappy relationship I ended up gaining weight and then after marriage gained more.  After having my second and going on Mirena I spiked to my heaviest weight of 226 and in August of 2011 I decided I was done being the fat girl and started what has now become my weight loss journey.
